
Rumor abounded. I could not find the original mouth for it. They said all manner of things. I cringed to think I was the heroine of the story. I never ran home that night, leaving the blasted slipper behind. I was out walking merely. Saw the lights. Attended the dance. Yes, he kissed me, but I had no idea who he was. Now that I am here I find I have but one slipper. Glass breaks easily, but hearts break more so. Who said it was a love story? More like Found and Lost.
